Here I will post the drafts of the Academic Mindsets Assignment.
According to Carol Dweck, there are two major mindsets toward studying; a growth mindset and a fixed mindset. A person has a growth mindset believes that they can be more intelligent by making effort, and a person who has a fixed mindset believes that intelligence and ability is something you are born with and cannot be better or worse.
I think I have a combination of a fixed mindset and a fixed mindset. I often think I am superior or inferior to others by nature, but I still believe that I can lessen the gap of natural ability by making efforts. (→ Growth and Fixed Mindsets) Also, I am likely to perform well when I believe that "I can succeed at this". (→ Four Academic Mindsets)
In this assignment, I argue if a growth mindset works if it is used properly, as Dweck says, or it doesn't work because if the bad systems, as Alfie Kohn says. And as a college student, I support Dweck and believe I can do better with school works if I have a growth mindset in a right way.
